1936	Louis SMETS starts off with 2 vehicles to transport straw and pigeons in Belgium and France.
1967	Transmet Ltd. acquires 9 10-ton-vehicles in order to assume the distribution of detergents in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands
1973	The company owns 15 trucks and 6 combinations tractor-trailer. This is the start of international transport to Germany (Ruhr). Louis SMETS is now assisted by his two sons Paul and Herman
1986	Transport Transmet Ltd. is in charge of a 30-vehicle- fleet
1991	The company moves to a new industrial site of 30,000 mē of which 8,000 mē for storage facilities. Division of the Transmet-companies * Transmet Distribution + storage in Haasrode (P. Smets) * Transports Transmet in Boutersem (Herman Smets)
2000	100 employees, 72 vehicles and 145 trailers ensure a made-to-measure-service in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Austria
